How To Measure Your Bike

When it comes to bike fenders and racks, we recommend a minimum 3/4 inch clearance between the tire and stays to enable the rack to flex and fit between.

The fender rack is good and pretty easy to install. I have one Ebike with full length mudguards and wanted to mount the bike vertically in a set space against a brick wall. I trial-tested the fitment of the bike in the rack while on the ground and found the support arms for my mudguards were fouling on the steadyrack arms, so with a little bit of effort I bent the support arms a little wider to help the bike slide in, plus the weight of the bike when loading it in, pulls the rack arms narrower, so the combination of both allows the bike to be loaded into the rack easily.

Due to mounting on a brick wall I decided to get some additional fixings, 4x 8mm anchor bolts, which holds the rack and everything very securely.

Fitting was easy and followed the video for measuring and calculating the total height I needed, marked out the hole positions and fitting was done.

My main criticism of the whole steadyrack is the plastic top & bottom covers. I have no idea how the "Clips" are supposed to work, as even taking the plastic covers on & off with the rack not mounted was utterly pathetic. The plastic cover has finger hold areas that look as if you should push them in, but no matter what I did, the plastic would either just flex or simply not release from the clip. A very poor designed part for what is a pretty sturdy and robust mount. I can easily see these plastic parts being broken during install.

Overall the steadyrack does the job I needed, was a bit pricier than I wanted to pay,…

Great rack. My handyman had no trouble installing. We couldn't use vertical studs so he installed a double thickness 2 by 4 so that we could mount it any place

Great product, but not so great packaging.

The rack itself is great! I just deducted one star for all the unnecessary packaging:

    - the cardboard box is covered with a thin layer of plastic

    - the installation manual inside the box is in another plastic bag

    - the rack inside the card box is in another plastic bag

    - the cardboard box is closed with adhesive tape

None of these things is necessary as the carboard box is a very stable. Leaving them away would be cheaper and better for the environment.

    Fender No Problem

The only rack of this kind I’ve seen that is designed to work with my wife’s bike with fenders. I was skeptical, but it works great!
