Mike from Alberta

Mike, a passionate cyclist from Alberta, Canada is joining us this month to share his incredible cycling adventures and how Steadyrack transformed his bike storage setup.

A proud owner of eight Steadyracks, Mike's garage has been an eye catcher for all. Each of his ten bikes, varying from gravel to mountain bikes, and even a few fat bikes, have a safe, well organized place in his garage. After years of using traditional hooks that scuffed his walls, Mike started researching and discovered Steadyrack. After careful consideration, Steadyrack became his first choice and now his bike storage is complete.

"Everyone that comes in literally gasps when they see it. It's like flipping through my quiver of bikes like pages in a book."

Mike's Bike Setup in Garage

Mike and his wife are both cycling enthusiasts, stating that it is not just a hobby, but a way of life. As lifelong mountain bikers living in the Rocky Mountains, they embrace all kinds of cycling adventures, from bikepacking, to longer distance gravel and road rides, to fat biking through Jasper's snowy winters. The couple often travel to Utah to tackle the rugged landscape, but are branching out this year and travelling to Spain for a bike touring trip.

Cycling has been a part of Mike's life for as long as he can remember. As soon as the training wheels came off, he was off and racing! Mike would often come home late with ripped jeans and flat tires and would spend every spare second he had riding to all corners of the city with his friend. He would beg his mother for chores so he could earn pocket money to pay for his bike repairs. On his 40th birthday, Mike's mother joked about how she should have changed his name to 'Bike'.

"Bikes, we all loved them as kids, then we grow up and they either go away completely or turn into minor parts of our busy lives. Except, that just didn't happen to me."

Mike riding on a trail

One of Mike's most unforgettable memories is one to pull on the heart strings! Mike took his wife for a ride on a beautiful trail in their hometown of Jasper, and asked for his friend to take a photo of the two of them. With the most perfect backdrop, Mike dropped to one knee and proposed to his now wife and the rest is history. It was the start of many more cycling adventures together.

Due to a smaller garage, Mike kept the spacing of his racks quite close together and chose to stagger the heights to allow for handlebar clearance. He stated the install was straight forward and went very well, and he was very pleased with how it turned out.

"I was blown away at how much more room I was able to save with the efficiency of your product."

After a lifetime of two-wheel adventures, Mike's passion for cycling only continues to grow. Biking has been a constant source of freedom, excitement, and connection. And now with Steadyrack in his garage, his biking lifestyle is not only as seamless and organized as it is adventurous, but also brings him a sense of pride to show off his setup. “Bikes have given me so much—from incredible experiences to lifelong friendships and countless memories with my wife.” We love hearing these amazing stories from our community, and are grateful that Mike was able to share his this month.
