Brian from North Yorkshire

Meet Brian, a passionate cyclist from North Yorkshire, United Kingdom. With a love for both on-road and off-road cycling, Brian will be sharing his cycling adventures with us this month, and how Steadyrack has played a key role in keeping his bikes ready to ride.

Brian's cycling adventures began when he returned home to the UK after 34 years of living abroad, where cycling was impossible due to harsh deserts and dangerous trails. At 62 years of age, he desired an activity where he could maintain his fitness and connect with new people. Cycling in the picturesque North Yorkshire was a perfect solution, and soon after, Brian joined a local cycling group called the York Wednesday Wheelers.

Brian expanded his cycling adventures when he became involved with the Rough Stuff Fellowship (RSF) and the North Yorkshire CTC - the oldest cycling organization in the UK. By doing so, he has been able to take part in unbelievable rides such as the Coast to Coast from Workington to Tynemouth, and completed international trips in Vietnam, Laos, Cyprus, and Thailand.

For most dedicated cyclists, as the love for cycling grows, so does the bike collection. For Brian, this was no different. It became a challenge to store his bikes and keep them organized, until he found Steadyrack. Brian has installed six Steadyrack bike racks in his garage, including the MTB Rack and Fender Rack, which has made the ultimate difference to his bike storage.

"The beauty of the Steadyrack is the fact that I was able to install these myself with only a small amount of effort, they allow me to free up plenty of space in my garage for a car and all the maintenance I like to do myself."

Brian's Steadyrack Installation

Despite a few hiccups along the way, including a broken collarbone and elbow, Brian's love for cycling continues to grow - it isn't just a hobby, it's a lifestyle. Even with upcoming knee and hip surgeries, it hasn't slowed him down, thanks to his trusty eBike! He has also extended his passion to his beloved grandchildren, who he ensured were started young on a balance bike and assisting them as they gradually moved onto bigger bikes.

"Having Steadyracks in the garage not only looks great but means I have no excuse to easily get a bike out rather than take the bus or car!"

Brian On Bike

Here at Steadyrack, we thrive on hearing the wholesome and inspiring cycling tales from our dedicated and loyal customers, and Brian's story is definitely a great one. Cycling adventures have become seamless for Brian and now he can spend more time enjoying the ride and teaching his grandchildren the joys of cycling.
